PROCON (International Workshop on Programmability for Cloud Networks and Applications) is held in conjunction with the International Teletraffic Congress (ITC) — the first international conference in networking science and practice, founded in 1955.

About the International Teletraffic Congress

The International Teletraffic Congress (ITC) was founded in 1955 by enthusiastic scientists and engineers committed to deploying communication networks in a holistic, science-driven manner. It served historically as the first forum for all theoretical fundamentals and engineering practices for large-scale deployment and operation of telecommunications networks, and for decades was the sole venue that brought together at large scale researchers from industry, network operators and service providers, as well as scientists from academia.

Since its inception, ITC has documented the full evolution of communications and networking — from traditional telephony to the Internet, mobile communications, optical networks, peer-to-peer systems, social networks, cloud computing, and beyond. ITC remains a wide and lively community dedicated to advancing the frontiers of knowledge in networking science.

"The rootedness on solid methodological ground allowed ITC to adapt its technological focus without losing identity. Also today, ITC remains a wide and lively community of researchers and practitioners dedicated to push back the limits of knowledge in the area of networking."

PROCON as an ITC Workshop

PROCON is one of the specialist workshops organized under the ITC umbrella. As part of ITC's workshop program, PROCON benefits from:

ITC Best Paper Award Tradition

ITC has a long-standing tradition of recognizing outstanding research through its Best Paper and Best Student Paper Awards. Best Student Paper Awards were introduced at ITC 16 (1999) and extended to full participants at ITC 21 (2009). The PROCON Best Paper Award continues this tradition within the specialized domain of cloud network programmability.
